Are there any credit repair companies that are legit?
Posted by: | CommentsI want to fix my credit fast, because I want to buy a new house in about 6 months. There a lost of credit repair companies out there. They say that they can remove bad hits on your credit report.
Has this worked for anyone? If so, which company? How much did you have to pay them? How much did your credit score increase? How long did it take?
Thanks a bunch!

What is the best way to repair my credit and fast?
Posted by: | CommentsWhen I was younger I got 5 credit cards and didnt understand that I didnt actually have the money I was spending. I have paid off most of the cards except my sears account. I only used $1000 but my current balance is $2795 and I dont really have this type of money to pay them one shot. I work part-time and with the recession job hunting isnt going so well. I received a letter from a lawyer who works on their behalf and says I must pay right away. What can I do and what are my options? I made a big mistake and now Im really stuck with bad credit. Any advice….I have a secured creditcard to try and re-build credit but my sears is still in the way…..If I pay them off in payments will my credit start getting better withing a year or how does it work…..
I am from Ontario, Canada not the U.S. ![]()
this debt is from 2005
Paying off old debts will not improve your credit. The way to rebuild your credit is with your secured card and getting new loans, since the default. In fact paying off old debts can actually lower your credit score, as it will bring old debts to current reporting status.
First you should check the statute of limitations on the old sears account, every debt has a time limit in which legal action can be taken against you, it varies by state. You can check your states statutes here:
http://www.bcsalliance.com/y_debt_sol.html
If the debt is out of statute, then the lawyer has lost their ability to legally sue you for the debt.
Negative accounts will remain on your credit for 7 years and 180 days from date of first delinquency. After that time period they will fall off, and negative accounts hurt your credit the most in the first two years, after that the impact will lessen.
If you debt is not out of statute, try settling the debts with the debt collectors, the older the debt, the better your deal. If the account is more than 3 years old offer them 20% to settle. Just make sure and get everything in writing before you mail them a money order for payment.
Another way to build your credit is to open a savings account, save until you get $1000.00, then ask the bank for a loan against the account, set it up to be repaid within 12 months.
ON ONTARIO STATUE OF LIMITATION: after Jan 01 2004 the Statute of Limitations on debt in Ontario changed from 6 years to two years from the last day the debt was acknowledged.

Whatever you do do not acknowledge the letter from debt collectors, the sears account is past statute.
Just open up another line of credit, and continue re-building your credit.

Which way is better, as far as improving my credit? Debt consolidation or credit repair?
Posted by: | CommentsI’m trying to improve my credit score and have come across these two options. I would like to know which of these two options is fast and reliable?
First, there are no legit credit repair companies…the only credit repair is you doing it yourself
As for Debt consolidation…there are companies out there that assist but you can do that on your own also
If you have some free time, you should watch or listen to Dave Ramsey Show

how fast can I repair my credit and how??

I am going through a divorce; my house will go in foreclosure, and pretty soon I will not enjoy any more a credit score above 750. So, with one co-signer or more, is there a chance to get a new loan for a house? Or I should buy a car with a co-signer and wait 1 or 2 years to repair my credit? What about if I will buy a car now, without a co-signer, while my credit score is still 750+, with payments for the next 2-3 years? This might help?
Im going to need more information to help you. Can you tell us what you think is wrong with it?
I don’t want to file bankruptcy! Is there a way I can wipe out everything clean?
In order to build up credit and establish a good credit, you must show a number of stabilizing attributes. Most notably, your report must prove to the lender that he will get his money back. Here are some suggestions:
OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT
Open a bank account and use it responsibly. This is the first step in establishing a financial history.
CO-SIGN
One way is to piggy-back onto someone who already has a good credit history established and is willing to co-sign. Once the co-signing has occurred, you simply make payments on or before the due date. In time you will have established a credit history.
SECURED CREDIT CARD
Apply for a credit card. Shop around and only apply for a card if you can meet the lender’s requirements. Responsible use (spending within your budget and paying your bill on time) will help you build a good credit history.
DEPARTMENT AND GASOLINE CREDIT CARDS
Since gasoline credit cards are not revolving (cannot carry a balance forward month-to-month), often they are easier to obtain than regular credit cards. Similarly, some department stores offer revolving credit for a specific purchase and this is sometimes easier to establish. It is also a great way to establish credit.

How can I get a credit card shipped to me fast ASAP?
Posted by: | CommentsI have excellent credit and need a new credit card shipped fast . Is there any website that can expedite this process I know I can instantly get approved for any card out there. I need to take care of some personel financial obligations fast. Any suggestions? I can find sites that promise fast delivery of credit cards for those with credit in need of repair , and there are many ways to get instant approval, but I need imediate shipping upon approval, and my credit is good
I got my capital one credit card 2 years ago…and once i got their fast-approval online they sent it to me right away. Their interest rates are not that great….but i got an option to get it in 2-3 days from that day.
I really would wait the extra couple days for a 0% interest rate card if you got good credit.
BUT CAPITAL ONE IS ONE ANSWER. WHATEVER YOU DO…don’t go with Bank of AMerica they won’t give you an approval until 30 days and even then you still have to wait for your card. Personal experience. hahahah
Anybody have pointers on how I can repair my credit fast?

"Repair Credit" and "Fast" don’t really go together. Building a positive credit history takes time and you can’t speed that up.
Don’t spend more than you have, never, ever miss a payment or be late on a payment. Your score will take care of itself.
How can I repair my credit rating after filing bankruptcy?
Posted by: | CommentsHow can I repair the damage? Is there a way to improve my credit rating faster? I filed bankruptcy almost 2 yrs. ago.
Wasn’t this explained to you by anybody when you filed bankruptcy? You screwed several creditors out of thousands and thousands of dollars. Your credit will now be in the dumps for from 7-10 years since you filed. Congratulations.
